The Lefortovo Court of Moscow extended until August 5 the term of arrest for a 72 -year -old citizen of Ukraine Yuri Soloshenko, the former director of the Poltava defense plant "Banner", said RAPSI. Thus, the total term of detention of the accused of espionage will be a year.
The case materials have a “secret” vulture. The process was held as it is suppressed closed. Neither the press service of the court, nor the defense of the accused, disclose the details of the case. The investigation is conducted by the FSB.
Soloshenko was detained when he arrived in Moscow to meet with business partners. Under article 276 of the Criminal Code (espionage), the former director threatens from 10 to 20 years in a colony. At the same time, as the son of the prisoner stated, "everyone knows that he was framed by a friend with whom he cooperated and trusted."
Soloshenko himself rejects the prosecution, stating that "by definition could not be a spy."
In April, it became known that the special service still does not allow the teams 29 to Soloshenko - Ivan Pavlov and Evgeny Smirnov. The arrested twice appealed to the investigator with a petition for the admission of these lawyers to him; Pavlov and Smirnov themselves also filed petitions of similar content twice. Nevertheless, the investigator ignored all appeals.
Lawyers turned to the Lefortovo District Court of Moscow, but the judge did not accept the complaint for consideration.
“All this, in our opinion, is done in order to prevent the repetition of the“ Casus Davydova, ” the lawyer concluded.“ The investigation is trying to press this matter with a stone and not release it. ”
In May, the human rights activist Zoya Svetova, who had met in the Lefortovo pre -trial detention center with Soloshenko, confirmed that the prisoner wants to change his lawyer and meet with the Ukrainian consul. She said that after that she received a letter from the senior investigator of the Investigative Department of the FSB for particularly important cases S. Mikryukova. He claimed that Soloshenko himself refuses to meet with the consul.
“There is only one reason: Yuri Soloshenko needs to“ squeeze ” - he must give the indications necessary for the investigation, must admit that spying in the interests of Ukraine. Then the investigator for especially important cases of the FSB investigation will receive his stars. And Russian propaganda will receive a valuable Ukrainian spy,” said Svetova.
