Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law giving preference to Russian software in government procurement. The document was published on the Kremlin website.
The law obliges the government to create a register of Russian software, which will include products produced by Russian companies or citizens of the Russian Federation.
In government procurement, the buyer will first have to select from the register, and if necessary, use foreign programs - give an explanation about this.
The law will come into force on January 1, 2016.
