In Moscow, a group of Orthodox believers demanded to stop the anniversary concert of the Silver Rain radio station. They stated that the noise prevents them from conducting a worship, reported by the journalist of "Echo of Moscow" Alexander Plyushchev.
Among the believers was Archpriest Dimitri Smirnov, the rector of the Temple of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Petrovsky Park. The temple is located 200 meters from the radio station at the other end of the park. Believers climbed the stage and interrupted the concert. After 35 minutes, they left. The concert continued, but the sound volume was reduced.
On Saturday, the Silver Rain radio station celebrates the twenty -year birth.
In October 2013, the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church appointed Smirnov the head of the Patriarchal Commission on Family, Protection of Motherhood and Childhood . Earlier, the Archpriest for 13 years headed the Synodal Department for interaction with the armed forces and law enforcement agencies.
Public statements by Archpriest Dimitry Smirnov have repeatedly attracted public attention.
