Dreams of the movie mechanic

“Casablanca” is a black and white film, but now all the inhabitants of Bologna know that Ilsa Lund came to the bar of her lover Rick in a pink suit. In August, the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ingrid Bergman will be fulfilled, and shots from her films are decorated with posters of the world's largest archive, “returned” movie Il Cinema Ritrovato in the world. In the evenings, old films are watched in the main Square of Bologna: comedies with Buster Keaton, Rocco and his brothers, “Lift on the Scaffold”, and in the cinema halls of the local synemate show the rare tapes from the movie archives of different countries. In 2014, the festival ended in the film "The Evening Day" with the Beatles group, and it was represented by the art director of the festival, Finnish director Peter von Bag. It was his farewell to Bologna: in September, Peter von Bag died after a serious illness, and now the festival is dedicated to his memory.
