The Congress of the Party of the RPR-Parnas was held

Today, the RPR-Parnas party was held in the Izmailovo hotel complex. The plans of the congress were the election of a new composition of the party leadership, a change in its name, a discussion of the platform of the democratic coalition.

I had the honor to make a greeting to the congress on behalf of the coalition partner - the party on December 5.

For all three years of its existence, our party is considering the RPR-Parnas as the closest partners and comrades.

This is primarily due to our value unity: the general commitment to the European choice of Russia, democracy, rights and freedoms of man, a general understanding of patriotism as the desire to see our country a prosperous European country.

The general experience of the fight against violations of human rights, joint shares of solidarity against political prisoners also brings us closer-many of the members of our party, as well as members of the RPR Parnas, participated and participate in the united democratic movement "Solidarity".

We were rallied by the tragic death of our comrade Boris Nemtsov.

The existence of different parties on the democratic flank of Russian politics is not a reason for the confrontation between them. On the contrary, the existence of associations, albeit different sizes, supporters of various organizational and tactical models facilitates the strategic, meaningful association of those who want democracy in Russia.

An important example of such an association was the democratic coalition, formed to participate in the regional elections of 2015 and subsequent federal elections.

The Party of the RPR-Parnas, which became the legal basis and the key participant in the democratic coalition, deserves great gratitude.

Some adherents of democratic values ​​claim that since there is no real elections in Russia, then there is no point in participating in them. But although there really is no election now, as there is no reason to expect that the change of existing regime is possible peacefully as a result of the elections, it is impossible to win, without participating in the elections.

Dramatic changes to the worst situation in the country, about which M.M. Kasyanov, especially ongoing armed aggression against Ukraine, are used by power to separate and polarizing society in order to deprive the democratic opposition of the possibility of influence on its main part.

In these conditions, it is especially important for us to maintain and strengthen the unity of actions.

At the same time, the events of recent times clearly testify to the degradation of the political and economic system, which has exhausted their capabilities, and therefore the approach of the inevitable, ultimately, victory of democracy.

The Parties of the RPR-Parnas will play a significant role in this processes associated with these processes.
