Yerevan police began to disassemble the barricades on Bagramyan Avenue

After 12:30 Monday (11:30 Moscow time), the Yerevan police began to disassemble the barricades erected by demonstrators on the roadway of Bagramyan Avenue. This was reported by "News-Armenia". Behind the garbage tanks from which the barricades were built, representatives of their owner - the company "Sanitek" have already arrived.

The clashes of the manifestants with security forces are not reported.

As Radio Azatutyun previously transmitted , the Armenian police made a statement on the intention on July 6 to restore movement on Bagramyan’s protesters blocked by Bagramyan Prospekt in Yerevan, "including through the seizure from the territory of objects that impede movement."

The document emphasized that the security forces invited the demonstrators to independently release the highway, but "the latter did not listen to the draft." The protesters were the last time such an offer, law enforcement officers continued and called for the manifestants to leave the avenue until 12:30. “Otherwise, starting from 12:30, the police will do this by applying their authority,” the security forces warned.

At the same time, the police assured that they would not object to the continuation of the action on Bagramyan Avenue, provided that the manifestants would leave the roadway.

Shortly before 12:30, the police put up the cordon opposite the barricades. The deputy chief of the police of Armenia Ulnan Poghosyan suggested that the protesters together with the police remove garbage tanks from the roadway to the sidewalk. “We can even wash off the garbage from the streets using a vodomet,” the official added. In addition, he noticed that security forces can help with the end of demonstrators.

However, the participants in the action demanded that they give time to think.

On Saturday, demonstrators in Yerevan said that they did not intend to free Bagramyan Avenue, and nominated the country's authorities by the Ultimatum . “If until 21:00 the next Monday (20:00 Moscow time - ed.) At least one of our requirements will not be fulfilled, then we will begin to carry out actions called“ Step forward ”: every day we will take a step closer to our barricades to the president’s residence,” the representative of the demonstrators David Sanasaryan said at the rally.

Demonstrators demand an annul in the decision to increase electricity tariffs and revise them towards the decrease, as well as bring to justice the police who applied violence during the dispersal of the demonstration on June 22.
