1415 Execution of Jan Hus

600 years ago, on July 6, 1415, by the verdict of the Cathedral of Constance, a Czech priest, the former rector of the University of Prague, Jan Hus, was executed, who refused to renounce his beliefs. Hus' sermons were recognized as heretical, in particular, that it was impossible to charge for the sacraments and sell church positions and that power that violates the commandments of God cannot be recognized by Him. He was also accused of expelling Germans from the university.

The execution of Hus caused outrage in the Czech Republic and led to many years of wars of Czech nobles and townspeople against the pope and the German emperor.
