Savchenko's case was transferred to the Prosecutor General

The case of the Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko was transferred to the Prosecutor General to approve the indictment, the press service of the Investigative Committee reports .

"The Office for the Investigation of Prohibited Funds and Methods of War of War, the GSU of the IC of Russia has completed an investigation into a criminal case against a citizen of Ukraine Nadezhda Savchenko. The criminal case against Savchenko was sent to approve the indictment and subsequent transfer to the court for consideration on the merits," the department said.

In turn, lawyer Mark Feigin said that Savchenko could be judged by Rostov-on-Don, Interfax reports. "She will be judged either in Moscow or Rostov. According to the final version of the prosecution, investigators believe that she crossed the border through the city of Donetsk in the Rostov region. If they decide to judge at the place of" crime, "it will be Rostov," Feigin said.

On July 2, Feigin said that Savchenko’s defense will petition for a court in Moscow, as well as the possibility of considering a jury. “Today we signed a protocol on the end of familiarization with the case file and stated several petitions. Firstly, the termination of the case against Nadezhda Viktorovna for the lack of corpus delicti, and secondly, about the exclusion of several evidence,” Feigin said. “We also ask for a trial in the case by a jury court.” At the same time, the lawyer admitted that there were few chances for considering the case with the participation of jury.

“Despite the fact that this year, article 105 (murder) against women who are not threatened with maximum punishment, is brought out of the jurors of the jury, we insist on the jury in order to challenge this norm in the Constitutional Court, as we consider it discriminatory on a gender sign,” the lawyer noted. He also stated that the defense would require a trial in Moscow.

"The most logical in this situation is the consideration of its case in Moscow, where consular institutions are located, experts in the case, investigative bodies. It is more than logical to carry out the court here," Feigin said.

According to Feigin, the head of the self -proclaimed "Lugansk People’s Republic" Igor Plotnitsky can be called as a witness to the prosecution.
