In Yerevan, the police dismantled the barricades on Bagramyan Avenue, set by participants in the protest against raising electricity tariffs. Several demonstrators were detained, Interfax reports.

According to the correspondent of the Armenian service of Radio Liberty (Radio Azatutyun) , several dozen protesters, despite the calls of the police to free the roadway, sat on the asphalt, singing patriotic songs and chanting "We are the owners of their country!" and other slogans. The police brought them to the sidewalks. There were no clashes. Currently, traffic on Bagramyan Avenue has been restored.

In Yerevan, demonstrators have been overlapping Bagramyan Avenue for almost two weeks, where the buildings of the presidential administration, parliament, the Constitutional Court are located, in protest against raising tariffs for electricity.

On Saturday, the protest participants presented the ultimatum to the authorities , giving the term until Monday evening to fulfill their requirements: to cancel the decision of the commission to regulate public services to increase tariffs for electricity; Punish those who gave the order to use force during the dispersal of the demonstration on June 23 . Otherwise, they stated that they would begin the so -called “Step forward” action, moving their barricades closer to the building of the presidential administration. On Monday morning, the police called on the demonstrators to voluntarily disassemble the barricades in order to ensure the movement of transport along the avenue, and to continue the action not on the roadway. The coordinators of the action refused to fulfill the police requirement.
