Earlier, at a press conference, the speaker of the Council of Council Valentina Matvienko called the same number of positions in the "patriotic stop list". The basis for the inclusion of NPOs in the list, she explained, were the appeals of the authorities of the regions, on the territory of which foreign NPOs that do not have branches in Russia work. According to Matvienko, the list will make it possible to make transparent and understandable the work of these NGOs for public organizations and government structures.
The chairman of the Council of Constitutional Legislation, Andrei Klishas, recently stated that in addition to appeals from the regions, when compiling the list, information provided by the Ministry of Justice, the FSB and the Prosecutor General’s Office is taken into account.
Earlier, the head of the Council of International Affairs Committee Konstantin Kosachev appealed to the Prosecutor General and the Ministry of Justice with a request to check the activities of unwanted organizations under the current legislation, noting that the United States uses any excuse to “fall Russia and establish external control of the situation in our country and our people”.
