Russia fully pays for electricity for the occupied Ukrainian territory. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Vladimir Demchishin during a meeting of the College of the Ministry of Energy with the participation of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenia Yatsenyuk, RBC-Ukraine reports .
At the negotiations with the Russian side, four lines were excluded from mutual settlements, along which electricity for 300 million hryvnias were supplied to Donbass monthly to the Donbass, the minister said. "Thus, we managed to increase the level of calculations with 85 percent (which Russia paid. - Ed.), Which was relevant during the first quarter, up to 100 percent, and we expect that we can save this level by the end of the year," Demchishin said. According to him, the electricity previously supplied to the Donbass cost Ukraine in 800-900 million hryvnias per month.
On February 19, the head of Naftogaz Andrei Kobolev said that the company does not intend to pay direct gas supply to the LPR and the DPR . Gazprom began them after the termination of gas supply to the Donbass from Ukraine due to damage to the gas pipeline as a result of battles. Kobolev emphasized that the supply procedure was strictly regulated, and without the consent of Naftogaz, Gazprom does not have the right to supply gas in those areas that are not agreed with the Ukrainian side.
On February 26, Gazprom agreed to bring the current gas supply to the LPR and the DPR beyond the negotiations with Ukraine. Ukraine does not pay for these volumes. However, the Russian monopolist still includes the cost of Gaza Donbass in the calculations of Ukrainian debt.
