In Volgodonsk, a criminal case was opened against a student at the request of a teacher

National Bolshevik Platform activist Vladimir Boyarinov in the city of Volgodonsk, Rostov Region, has been prosecuted for inciting hatred or enmity (under the first part of Article 282 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of up to two years in prison) in connection with the publication of a video on the social network. This was reported on the page of the National Bolshevik Platform on the social network Vkontakte. In a conversation with OVD-Info, Boyarinov could not remember either the exact content of the video or its title, linking the persecution solely to his position on the Ukrainian issue.

The basis for the criminal case was the statement of Valery Kornienko, a law teacher at the activist at the institute, who complained about the allegedly extremist content of the video that Boyarinov posted on his page on the social network Vkontakte on January 14, 2014. In a conversation with OVD-Info, Boyarinov clarified that the teacher wrote the application back in February 2015. From that moment on, law enforcement agencies became interested in Boyarinov: employees of the E Center began calling him and came home. On April 23, a month after the activist demanded an official summons, five employees of the department of the center for combating extremism in Rostov-on-Don arrived at his home, who, according to Boyarinov, tricked him into his apartment, forcibly brought him to the local Center "E", after which, "threatened with physical violence, forced to sign a statement and released."

On July 1, the activist was summoned to the Investigative Committee, where he was told that a case had been opened. At the same time, Boyarinov was not allowed to familiarize himself with the materials of the case and was told that it was “under the control of the FSB” and would be considered “in a special order.” Against whom the activist allegedly incites hatred, he was not told: “They said that I am a right-winger, I conduct anti-Russian activities, I recruit students of my university into extremist activities, I post videos with extremism,” he describes the conversation with the investigator.

According to Boyarinov, the video he is accused of "contained a call for political change in Russia", "the theory of a new revolution and restructuring of the system." The activist refused to give more detailed content, as well as the name of the video, referring to the fact that a year and a half had passed since the publication, and the video itself was currently blocked by the administration of the social network. The reason for the persecution, he called his position in connection with the situation in Ukraine. According to the activist, the impetus was the fact that he “only said in a conversation with his acquaintances that he supported the policy of Ukraine.” After initiating a case at the institute, the activist was demanded to immediately pick up the documents.
