The case of Ilya Romanov. Court chronicle: Twelfth day

Yesterday, June 6, at the process of the Nizhny Novgorod anarchist, accused under four articles of the Criminal Code of Part 1 of Art. 30 h. 1 tbsp. 205 (preparation for a terrorist act), part 1 of Art. 222 (illegal storage, transportation or wearing of ammunition), part 1 of Art. 223 of the Criminal Code (illegal manufacture of ammunition) and part 3 of Art. 30 h. 2 tbsp. 205.2 (an attempt on public calls for terrorist activities committed using the media, the defense side began to present their evidence. During the meeting of the visiting collegium of the Moscow District Military Court, two witnesses were interrogated - Valery Solntsev and Ivan Reshetov. These witnesses were originally declared both sides of the process, but later the party to the prosecution refused to call the call. They were in court, however, the defense insisted on the interrogation of Solntsev and Reshetov at the hearing.

Valery Solntsev was present as a witness to the search of a rented apartment, into which Ilya Romanov moved two weeks before the incident with the operation of the pyrotechnic device in his hands. Solntsev is a tenant of the apartment below, he was not previously signed with the defendant, and has no interest in the process.

The witness told the court that when he, at the invitation of the district police officer, rose to the apartment where he was a search, about 20 police officers in the form of and without, for participation as a witness, on the landing. During the search in the room, there were 6 or 7 people constantly, and the remaining periodically came and left. He himself, witnessed during the search a couple of times, went away and went to his home for 15–20 minutes. Of all the seizures seized, he remembered only a jar of white powder, which at the time of the appearance of the witness in the apartment was already on the floor, next to the bag, and not in it, as the inquiry officer Angelica Balakina-Kochetkova and the head of the explosion technicians of the Federal Security Service Sergey Kirsanov claimed. In addition to this can, Solntsev did not remember anything suspicious. The witness further said that after a large open room, a toilet and a bathroom were watched, two more rooms had to be searched, but these rooms were locked, and the police had to break the doors. It is worth noting that the examinations of these two rooms represents one of the riddles of this criminal case. First, Realtor Oleg Chizhevsky, interrogated at the hearing as a witness, explains to the court that the defendant could be in only one room, because the other two were locked, and when Chizhevsky, after a search by the police, visited the apartment, the rooms also remained locked. Then the interrogator of Balakina-Kochetkova states that these two rooms were so open, and after that during a judicial interrogation, the FSB explosive technician Kirsanov claimed that someone found the keys to them, brought them to the inquiry officer, and she herself opened the premises.

In addition, the witness Solntsev explained to the court that another witness was present at the search, but he did not participate in the inspection of any rooms, except for one, a large room-he simply did not know in other rooms, and where he could be, Solntsev did not know.

During the interrogation of Valery Solntsev, significant contradictions were revealed with his testimony at the preliminary investigation during the interrogation on April 29, 2014 by the investigator of the Federal Security Service of Kurkin. At the hearing, the witness said that the door of the apartment was already opened by the time he, along with the district police officer, rose to the landing. In the protocol, it was recorded that the door was opened by the interrogator Balakina-Kochetkov with a key to him. At the hearing, the witness said that he followed the explosive engineer and police officers and for a long time did not leave the apartment. However, at the preliminary investigation, he testified that after the interrogator, the district police officer and witnesses entered the apartment, the explosive engineer showed them a jar of white powder, said that there, allegedly, was an explosive substance, showed a bubble with a tube in the lid, explaining that it was an explosive device, and asked to retire for safety reasons while he would take samples and neutralize this device and substances. The witness explained the contradictions that arose by the fact that both at the stage of the preliminary investigation and at the hearing he could miss something. However, he recognized his initial indications more appropriate reality, it is worth noting, not without a certain share of the pressure of the judicial board. The court considered that the contradictions were eliminated by announcing the protocol of the interrogation of the witness at the preliminary investigation.

The interrogation of the senior lieutenant of the police Ivan Reshetov, the operative of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Nizhny Novgorod Region was much more interesting. Ivan Reshetov was part of the operational investigative group and carried out operational support of the criminal case against Ilya Romanov under Part 1 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code before its connection with the case of terrorism and transfer to the Investigative Department of the FSB. Before starting the interrogation of the witness, the anarchist categorically stated that the CPE employee has grounds for his reservation.

As the investigator explained to the court, the accompany of the criminal case consisted of "work on his line, that is, identifying and suppressing extremist activities." The identification and suppression of extremist activity was mainly in the fact that Reshetov through the Internet was looking for information about Ilya Romanov in the public domain. It was in this way that he discovered in the Radio Radio Radio Libertaire on the social network VKontakte "Audio recording of the" Dialogs "program with Ilya Romanov, in which the anarchist, according to the prosecution, voices calls for terrorist activities. The investigator copied this record because she was very interested in him, it seemed to him that this was important information on the case, since there were calls for young people.

From the testimony of the witness Reshetov, it became known that he met Ilya Romanov in the hospital on October 26, 2013, where he was hospitalized with his hand injury after an unsuccessful experiment with a pyrotechnic device. There was no Reshetov on a search in a rented apartment, but there was some other employee from another department of CPE.

In his testimony, Reshetov explained that he was a report addressed to the head of the police department No. 5 about the discovery of the address of the rented apartment, but he was not established by himself, but other employees, because the entire CPE was involved in this episode.

The question of the lawyer of the defendant Evgeny Gubin regarding the acquaintance of Reshetov and the key witness of the prosecution Svetlana Volkova was removed by the court.

Further, Reshetov showed that he really took Ilya Romanov, by decree of the senior interrogator Balakina-Kochetkova from the pre-trial detention center to the ED center, together with the operatives Valery Stepanenko and Andrei Odobnyakov on December 6, 2013. As the witness explained, the purpose of the interrogation was to clarify the ties of the anarchist in the Nizhny Novgorod region. To the questions of the lawyer of the defendant Gubin, why it was precisely the export to the CPE and why it was impossible to carry out these events on the territory of the pre -trial detention center, the operative explained that "the situation is not located in the pre -trial detention center," while "the center is comfortable." The interrogation of Reshetov himself described as follows: “They brought into the office, put them in a chair, poured tea. They began to communicate for life. ” However, by a strange coincidence, Romanov refused to sign any papers and record his answers in writing. Before taking the anarchist back to the pre -trial detention center, the operational employee Stepanenko took Romanov to the office to Colonel Alexei Trifonov, the chief of the CPE, but for what purpose this was done, he could not explain Reshetov. He only said that Romanov himself was not against visiting Trifonov's office.

Reshetov said that no threats to Romanov were expressed, there was no psychological pressure, they did not require a confession. The whole conversation took place in a calm atmosphere, and the defendant did not even ask to call a lawyer. The operative did not show any materials to the anarchist. Then the defendant’s lawyer asked the witness to give explanations regarding Romanov’s complaint about the actions of the CPE officers expressed in threats and the provision of psychological pressure. This complaint noted that Reshetov also showed Romanov printed documents: a sheet with threats to the leaders of the city and the region and the cover of the Aryan Terror brochure. The journal of practical training of white terrorists, ”and demanded that these documents belong to him. These documents were discovered on a system unit, seized during a search in a rented apartment, which later belonged to Sergei Vetoshko, who was hanging in one of the Nizhny Novgorod departments of the police. The defendant himself categorically denies any involvement in their creation or storage.

Regarding the complaint of Reshetov, he said that Romanov stipulates him. The court tried to find out on the basis of which the witness came to this conclusion. Reshetov explained that they, the employees of the CPE, have such a job that they are constantly stipulated. They have to constantly go to the Investigative Committee and give explanations, because "the committee against torture constantly fits a complaint." And the complaint to the committee against torture on the CPE immediately attracts the attention of the media. And for Romanov is PR, because he has high information support. “Where the CPE is mentioned, the status of a person immediately rises. The attention of the opposition is attracted, ”the witness concluded.

The prosecutor Ezersky began to find out what “wide information support” means. Reshetov explained that there are a lot of media in the Nizhny Novgorod region in particular and in Russia as a whole opposed the current government, against the authorities and discredits power. Various organizations, such as the “Left Front”, begin to criticize power, grab some information from the context, leave comments and spread them, and “power for them are crooks and thieves”. They even created the site “Base for lustration”, where photos of police officers and information about them are posted (it is worth noting that there has long been a page on this site dedicated to the witness himself ). Thus, all these organizations are enlisted by support. Romanov, on the other hand, is engaged in “self -patient”, a lot of publications writes about him, and even in “Wikipedia” there is information about him. “Few people are in” Wikipedia, ”and he is there as some famous writer,” said the TSPE operational employee. “He is a blogger, a well -known person who promotes itself,” so the Reshetov summed up his testimony.

During the break, Ilya Romanov managed to comment on the statements of the operative during the interrogation. “Yes, yes, he himself said:“ Take me to him - I have heard about this person for so long, ”he spoke out with irony about Reshetov’s statements about the supposedly voluntary visit of the CPE chief. And he already seriously added: “In general, his hand is felt in all this matter: as if he himself created these files.” The anarchist is confident in the involvement of the employees of the Nizhny Novgorod CPE and the boss himself, Alexei Trifonov, to the factory of evidence in his criminal case.

The next meeting will begin today, at 10.00, in the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Court. Interrogations of the specialist Orlova, who took part in the searches at the place of residence of Ilya Romanov and in the rented apartment on October 26, 2013, explosions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Shorokhov and Vinokurov, who participated in the search in a rented apartment, and Usoltsev, the guard of the parking lot near the regional military registration and enlistment office, next to which the pyrotechnic device was trained.
