
The National Olympic Committee (NOK) of Hungary nominated Budapest in the election of the capital of the 2024 summer games, TASS reports citing Reuters.
Earlier, the City Council approved the idea of nominating the city as a candidate in the election of the capital of the 2024 Olympics. The National Olympic Committee of the country welcomed this decision.
Reception of official applications for the Olympics-2024 began on January 15 and will end on September 15, 2015. The International Olympic Committee will announce the capital of the Olympic Games at the 130th session of the organization in Lima in 2017.
Earlier, the applications were submitted by Rome (Italy), Hamburg (Germany), Boston (USA) and Paris (France).
