The Moscow guitar-electronic group Race to Space records a new album with might and main, so it rarely appears in public. From its recent appearance in the light: a concert at the Moscow Jazz Manor , a performance on the scandalously torn birthday of the Silver Rain radio station and this is a new video made from the classics of Soviet children's cinema and animation:
- Why "Snow Maiden"? How did the idea to take the old Soviet films as a basis?
Vadim Maevsky: Miriam could not relate our remixes album , released a year ago. And then he calls and says that he listened to him five times, and Haarps Remix to the song “Forest” in her repita is already a day.
Miriam Sehon: We met, and there was an idea to make a clip. I wanted to take existing material, where there is a lot of Russian nature. The original song is also a little ethnic, but Remix turned out to be very Russian-folk. They began to look for old Soviet films, put under the track. There were not many options. It became clear that there should be a fairy tale in color. I certainly wanted birches. Girl in birches and snow.
Vadim Mayevsky: We generally like to rethink our work in the aesthetics of Soviet cinema. The video for the song "Baikal" was made on the basis of the Soviet scientific documentary film "I See the Earth!" This is a kind of tribute to the era of repostation, in which we all live.
- What will be your next clip?
Peter Fedorov: Several ideas are fighting in the head for the film adaptation, and we are fighting during the time that is running. But I definitely do not want to release intermediate vidos, if you do, it is cool and with the approach. There are also many incredible places in the mind, especially in the north, where you want to get with the camera. This year we want to remove something.
- You took part in the festival “ Jazz ” and played at the birthday of “silver rain”. One event suffered from heavy rain, another from the invasion of dissatisfied Orthodox. Have you suffered?
Vadim Maevsky: The rain on the Jazz Estate and the audience, which selflessly mole was diverged, rather inspired us to an energetic concert. Oleg Nesterov (“megapolis”) who performed immediately after us told us that the rain during the concert is a “special honor” for musicians. I think that the same can be said about the invasion of the Orthodox to celebrate the birthday of “silver rain”. We were not injured, we played our program, after us the Pompeya group entered the stage, and the delegation of the Orthodox appeared closer to the end of their performance. Although, perhaps, it was our music that provoked this incident.
- What else is the group prepared? When to wait for the second album?
Vadim Mayevsky: Now Race to Space has an active studio period. We are completely absorbed in the spelling of a new album, in which we were joined by guitarist Pavel Dodon (Dolphin) and Casimir Liske (Sugar) as a vocalist. It's too early to talk about the release date, but the work is in full swing!
