VGIK Summer School

Yesterday I met with students and teachers of the VGIK Summer School .



The summer school was a continuation of our cooperation with the university: last year Kirov was included in the list of cities visited by the VGIK Film Train .

In the same year, VGIK holds its summer film school here. Moreover, this is not a regional, but an international project: among the film school participants are guys from India, Romania, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, and Turkey.



In addition, this month a whole galaxy of internationally renowned professional filmmakers will visit Kirov.

The principled position of the leadership of VGIK and its rector Vladimir Sergeevich Malyshev is to carry out such large-scale educational projects not only in Moscow, but in different parts of our country. In my opinion, this is correct.

In conclusion, I would like to thank the organizers of the Summer School and Vladimir Sergeevich personally for choosing the Vyatka region as the site for the school. I hope that working in the Kirov region will be good practice for future filmmakers, and our cooperation with VGIK will become even more intense and fruitful.
