The social network "VKontakte" blocked the community "no God" by the decision of the Chechen court. According to TJournal.ru , the blocking occurred on July 9 on the basis of a resolution of the Leninsky district court of the city of Grozny of May 13. This was confirmed by the press service of the social network. On the evening of July 13, the community was unlocked, the VK administration has not yet commented on this decision.
According to the application of the deputy bailiff of the Chechen Republic, Nikolai Khabarov, the court studied the materials of the VK community and considered them "insulting the religious feelings of the Orthodox." At the same time, the court ruling contains neither quotes nor links to specific materials. The decision entered into force on June 15.
The “no God” VK community at the time of blocking totaled about 26 thousand subscribers. After blocking, a new community was created at https://vk.com/boga_net_66613 . The group publishes anticlerric -orientation materials.
The founder and former owner of VKontakte Pavel Durov in 2013-2014 refused to block the online communities at the request of the authorities and issue to the special services the personal data of the administrators of protest groups. “Neither I nor my team are going to carry out political censorship,” Durov wrote in April last year. “We will not delete neither the Navalny anti -corruption community, nor hundreds of other communities, the blocking of which is required from us. The relevant right of the post -industrial society is the right to disseminate. This is the right, without which the existence of VKontakte does not make sense.
Durov sold his share of VKontakte, was shifted from the post of general director and emigrated.
