1410 Battle of Grunwald

605 years ago, on July 15, 1410, near the village of Grunwald (now in northern Poland), the troops of the Teutonic Order were defeated by Polish and Lithuanian troops, and the Grand Master of the Order, Ulrich von Jungingen, died on the battlefield. The allied troops were led by the Polish king Jagiello and the Grand Duke of Lithuania Vitovt. After the Battle of Grunwald, the decline of the Teutonic Order began. The allied army numbered 16-17 thousand people, and the Teutonic army - 11 thousand. Almost the entire army of the order was destroyed or captured. 205 Teutonic Knights died. The allied army lost half of its composition killed and wounded.
