Pavlensky refused to speak in court

Investigator Pavel Yasman led the Pavlensky case to his dismissal from the Investigative Committee (SK). Pavlensky asked the court to allow him to participate in the meeting as a defender, and after this petition was rejected, he refused to talk and answer the judge in any form.

Yasman came to court by the beginning of the meeting, but he was removed from the hall at the request of the representative of the prosecutor's office, Rosbalt notes.

In February 2014, Pavlensky and four of his like-minded people were arranged by the Freedom action in support of the Kyiv Maidan: they set fire to car tires on the Little-Corrupt Bridge near the Temple of the Savior-on-Blood in St. Petersburg. After 20 minutes, firefighters and the police arrived at the place, who detained all participants in the action.

In March 2015, the SK opened a criminal case against Pavlensky under Part 2 of Art. 214 of the Criminal Code (vandalism), which provides for punishment up to imprisonment up to 3 years, in April the investigation was completed. In May, the artist abandoned the amnesty, and on June 16 he was awarded the indictment and transferred the case to the court.

The next meeting in the Pavlensky case is scheduled for September 16.
