The illegitimate Bakhchisarai district court of Crimea sentenced the Imam of the mosque of the village of Turgenevka Mustafa Yagyaev to two years conditionally according to paragraph 2 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code (excitement of hatred or enmity with the use of violence or the threat of its use). This was announced on Friday by the occupation prosecutor's office of the region.
It is forbidden to engage in "activities related to the transfer and dissemination of any information." What exactly does this formulation mean, the department did not specify. As the Center "Owl" noted , it is possible that we are talking about the ban on the activities of Imam.
According to the information "Crimea. Reali", the episode, which was charged with the convict, occurred in June 2014. Yagyaev works as a locksmith in the housing and communal services of the village of Zheleznodorozhny. While in the service building, he heard the accountants evaluate the consequences of the annexation of Crimea. In what expressions they discussed the consequences of the annexation, the prosecutor's office did not specify. One way or another, it was stated that Yagyaev was indignant at their remarks.
Then, as the accusation claimed, he began to scream at them and declared the following in particular: "We will return the Crimea to Ukraine, there will be war, we will cut you and burn you, and the Russians will choke in blood in this war, but it’s a pity that my Muslim brothers will die."
Meanwhile, Imam himself categorically denies that he pronounced the phrase attributed to him. According to his lawyer Emil Kurtbeinov, at work he had a purely household conflict.
All three accountants wrote denunciations to Yagyaev in the CPE. On December 18, the security forces conducted a five -hour search from Imam, having seized a laptop Winchester, phones, several religious books, photographs and a number of documents.
The owl center did not rule out that his religious and social activity was the true reason for the persecution of Yagyaev. It was noted that in the 1990s, the imam was a member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, and QHA reported that he headed the Majlis of Turgenevka.
The verdict of Yagyaeva was sent to the holiday of ID al-Fitr (Uraza-Bayram)-the day of the end of the Holy month of Ramadan, one of the two main holidays of Islam.
