Mitsubishi has decided to apologize for exploiting prisoners of war
Mitsubishi was the first of the major Japanese companies to ask for forgiveness for the use of slave labor of prisoners of war during the Second World War. The ceremony will take place on July 19 at the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles. One of the leaders of the corporation will turn to former prisoners and personally to 94-year-old American James Murphy, who was captured in 1942 in the Philippines.
During the war, Mitsubishi factories employed prisoners of war from six camps, where 2041 people were kept (English).
