Moskva-River Day is first celebrated in the capital

On Sunday, July 19, Muscovites will first celebrate the Day of Moscow River. It will be celebrated in the Park of Gorky and Silver Bor by holding subbotniks, carnivals and beach competitions.

It is planned that the participants in the action, including divers, will clean the bottom of the Moscow River and coastal territories from plastic and other garbage, Kommersant reports with reference to the Maryino district administration.

In addition, at the request of the capital's leadership, it is planned to hold sports competitions in beach sports in the capital, showing documentaries about water resources, a citywide competition of homemade recyclables, as well as skating on boats, hydraulic cycers and scooters.

The idea of ​​holding such a holiday was supported by Muscovites themselves. Earlier, 75% of the survey participants in the Active Citizen appendix spoke out of the Moscow River day. The idea received the greatest support from the project participants living in the SEAO, SEAO and Tinao.

From now on, the Moscow River Day is planned to celebrate every year on July 19.
