Declared the curator of the Venetian architectural biennale

Chilean architect Alehandro Araveno was appointed artistic director of the 2016 Venice Architectural Biennale.

Alejandro Araveno (b. 1967) received an architect’s diploma at the Catholic University of Chile, the Alejandro Aravena Architects Bureau subsequently built several buildings on the territory of the university. Also, among the implemented projects of Araveni, the buildings of several other educational institutions in their homeland and abroad. In 2013, the architect won the Tehran Stock Exchange Project Competition.

From 2000 to 2005, Araveno was a professor at Harvard University, where he, together with engineer Andres, Jacobelli, created the initiative of socially oriented construction Elemental .

Member of Biennale in San Paulo (2007), Milan Tiennale (2008) and twice-in 2008 and 2010-the Venetian architectural Biennale. Since 2009 - a member of the jury of the Pritzker Prize.

The XV Venice Architectural Biennale will be held from May 28 to November 27, 2016.
