Dieter Mebius was born in 1944, studied art in Brussels and West Berlin. In 1969, in the Berlin club Zodiac, where they played experimental music, he met his founders Hans Joachim Rodelius and Conrad Shnitzler and formed the Kluster trio.

Until mid -1971, the group released the albums “Klopfzeichen” , “Zwei Osterei” and “Erupation” . At the weekend, the mebius was indicated as a drummer, Rodelicius as a cellist, and a sinnitzler as a keyboard player, but during the recording, non -traditional tools as a generator and a battery were also used. The records were not successful, the first two dispersed the total circulation of only 300 copies. Now Kluster is considered one of the most influential groups in the history of Kraut-rock.

After Schunitzler left the group, Mebius and Rodelius continued to record under the name Cluster with the active participation of the sound engineer and producer Konnie the Plack, who also worked with Kraftwerk , Neu!, Ash Ra Tempel , Holger Shukay and Guru Guru .

In the mid-70s, Mebius and Rodelius with Michael Roter from Neu! They recorded two albums under the name Harmonia , in 1976 the album “Tracks & Traces” (published in 1997) was recorded with Brian Ino, in 1978 with a team of independent musicians - the album “Liliental” . In addition, Mebius released 17 solo albums, the last of them, Nidemonex , in 2014. Until recently, the musician continued to work in the studio and perform at concerts.
