"Right Sector" demanded a referendum on no confidence in the authorities and the abolition of the Minsk agreements

The Ukrainian nationalist movement "Right Sector" (an organization banned in Russia) at a closed congress in Kiev demanded a referendum on no confidence in the president, government and parliament of Ukraine, as well as the abolition of the Minsk agreements and the legalization of volunteer battalions.

It was also decided at the congress that the Right Sector would not take part in the local elections to be held in Ukraine in the fall.

Another decision was that the leader of the "Right Sector" Dmitry Yarosh will not give up his deputy mandate.

• The Right Sector convened a congress shortly after a conflict broke out between the fighters of the organization and the Ukrainian police in the city of Mukachevo in the Transcarpathian region. They staged a shootout, which, according to various sources, killed three to five people.
• The prosecutor's office launched an investigation under articles on the terrorist attack and the creation of a criminal organization. On July 21, it also became known about the initiation of a criminal case on banditry. His defendants are 13 fighters of the Right Sector.
• The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, commenting on the conflict in Mukachevo, connected it with the redistribution of smuggling flows. At the same time, Poroshenko promised that not a single political organization in the country "would have any armed cells."
