Preliminary hearings on the case of Ukrainian serviceman Nadezhda Savchenko in the court of Donetsk, Rostov region will be held on July 30. This was reported by the press secretary of the Donetsk City Court Tatiana Dieva. According to her, the meeting will be held behind closed doors.
The lawyer for the Ukrainian serviceman, Mark Feigin, said that Savchenko had already been taken to one of the detention centers in Rostov-on-Don, which one is unknown. “This is a transit point, then she will be transferred to pre-trial detention center number 4 in the city of Shakhty, which is the closest to the Donetsk city court,” told RIA Novosti. Another lawyer for the defendant, Nikolai Polozov , said that the defense had appealed the decision of the prosecutor's office to consider the case in the Rostov region. Lawyers are asking to move the hearings to Moscow, because, in their opinion, the safety of the participants in the process cannot be ensured in the Rostov region.
“The meeting will begin at 11:00 Moscow time, it will be held behind closed doors,” Dieva said.
