“It seems to me that the most interesting place is still a place near the Borovitsky Gate,” said Sobyanin on the air of the Moscow Radio Says . - There is such a half -forgotten, unheated site. There can be a improvement, it seems to me that the monument there fits very well there. ”
At the same time, the mayor considers it “good” all three options proposed by the Russian military-historical society (RVIO) to install the monument to Prince Vladimir,-Zaryadye, Lubyanka and Borovitskaya Square.
Sobyanin also said that he would “focus on the opinion of citizens” and was going to conduct a survey about the place of installation of the monument in the “Active Citizen” app.
Earlier, representatives of the public said that Borovitskaya Square is not suitable for installing the monument to Prince Vladimir, in particular, because it is under UNESCO protection and any construction work will require approval with the International Expert Community, Interfax notes. City defenders from the Archnadzor movement consider all three options selected by RVIOs unsuccessful.
The monument to Prince Vladimir in Moscow is planned to be opened on November 4, on the Day of National Unity. Initially, it was supposed to establish a monument on the observation deck of the Sparrow Mountains, but after the public protests, the RVIO abandoned this option and offered ten others instead of it, of which three were selected.
