The head of the Accounts Chamber Tatyana Golikova and Patriarch Kirill signed an agreement on cooperation in the fight against corruption. The document is published on the website of the Moscow Patriarchate.
SP and the Russian Orthodox Church expressed intention to take care of preserving morality in society, counteracting corruption, extremism, spiritual expansion, participating in the restoration and development of historical and cultural heritage, including concern for the protection of historical and cultural monuments, conduct educational events, conduct a dialogue in the legislative sphere.
"The Accounts Chamber can involve representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church as specialists (external experts) to participate in the conduct of control and expert-analytical measures in cases where to achieve the goals of the control or expert-analytical event and gain answers to the issues, special knowledge, skills and experience are not owned by inspectors and other employees of the Office of the Accounts Chamber," the document says.
“The work of the Accounts Chamber has a significant impact, if you like, on a moral climate in society. You know that corruption, in other words, theft decomposes a human personality. And if corruption acquires a significant scale, then it corrupts the healthy fabric of society and undermines the foundations of the state,” the Patriarch quotes Interfax.
The church has no authority, Cyril noted. Its business is not to engage in checks, but to work with human souls, "because only power levers in overcoming corruption are clearly not enough."
“The team of the Accounts Chamber, based on its capabilities, in every possible way contributes to the spiritual revival of Russia,” Golikova said in turn. “I hope that the agreement that we signed will contribute to counteracting corruption, extremism, spiritual expansion and at the same time the revival of the cultural and historical values of the Russian Federation.”
According to Golikova, the work of the chamber is largely aimed at the restoration of historical justice, the return of religious monuments of the church and the development of these religious monuments, promoting the most effective use of state funds that are invested in this revival. " A house temple, which is successfully functioning, operates on the territory of the chamber.
