Members of the Interregional Public Organization Committee against torture decided to liquidate the organization. This was stated by the chairman of the checkpoint Igor Kalyapin at a press conference in Interfax.

“At the conference, most delegates spoke out for the liquidation of the organization,” Kalyapin said. “Within three days, we will send a statement about this to the Ministry of Justice.”

According to Kalyapin, he and his colleagues intend to discuss in what quality they will continue human rights in the future. "We will discuss, and we will voice the results at a press conference at the Interfax press center in Moscow on July 28," he said.

In November, in Nizhny Novgorod, on behalf of the regional prosecutor's office, an unscheduled check was held at the checkpoint . It was organized by the denunciation of Yevgeny Mokashov, the coordinator of the local branch of the Prochrevsky national liberation movement.

“This is the third prosecutor’s audit for the last one and a half months according to the denunciations of NOD,” Kalyapin said. “Only earlier I got off with simple explanations. And now a complete documentary audit with the participation of the tax and the Ministry of Justice.”

In January, the Ministry of Justice forcibly included the checkpoint in the register of "foreign agents" on the basis of the submission of the prosecutor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Oleg Ponasenko.
