
According to IDC, according to the results of the II quarter of 2015, the share of the South Korean company Samsung in the world smartphone market was 21.7%, while a year earlier this figure was 24.8%. At the same time, Samsung was the only company among five market leaders, which showed a reduction in the volume of devices supply, and Apple demonstrated the best growth in this indicator.
According to CNews , in the II quarter, 337.2 million smartphones were delivered to the world market, which is 11.6% more than in the same period last year. Samsung put 73.2 million devices on the market, although a year ago this figure was higher by 1.7 million smartphones. Apple, on the contrary, markedly improved positions, putting 47.5 million devices on the market (last year the volume of deliveries amounted to 35.2 million). The company from Cupertino ranks second in the market with a share of 14.1%, against 11.7% a year earlier.
In third place is the Chinese Huawei, which in the II quarter put 29.9 million smartphones on the market (almost one and a half times more than a year ago) and increased the market share from 6.7% to 8.9%. The fourth line is occupied by Xiaomi (17.9 million of the delivered devices, 5.3% of the market).
Recall that according to the May forecast of IDC analysts, in 2015, the growth of the smartphone market will slow down 2.5 times and will be 11.3% compared with 27.6% in 2014. In absolute terms, the supply of smartphones will come closer to a mark of 1.45 billion pieces.
