In Novosibirsk, Parnassus members went on a hunger strike in the election commission building

Members of the opposition Parnassus party, in protest against the refusal to register signatures, went on a hunger strike in the building of the Novosibirsk regional election committee.

The election commission voted to reject Parnassus, and then the head of the election headquarters, Leonid Volkov, said: “We use legal methods of political protest: we are on the territory of the election commission, the candidates are with us.”

The commission left the office, and 9 people from the Democratic Coalition sat down at the table and began to discuss the affairs of the campaign. Three - Volkov himself and two candidates, Yegor Savin and Sergei Boyko - went on a hunger strike.

Since two o'clock in the afternoon, Parnassus has been trying to win back its signatures on the working group: many signatures have been rejected due to the mistakes of the electoral committee, not the collectors. As a result, the electoral commission returned 150 signatures, admitting its mistake, but this was still not enough to overcome the barrier.

At the same time, the electoral commission did not recognize a single mistake of the management of the Federal Migration Service, which was the majority. Even the signature of Darya Timurovna, whose middle name, according to the FMS, should be "Timurovich", was left invalid. The headquarters collected notarized copies of passports that the department did not find in its database - and these documents were not even considered at the meeting.

“Proposals were prepared - 196 issues on the agenda. The commission was obliged to vote on each signature, but there was no vote,” lawyer Ivan Zhdanov explained. The commission listened to Parnas' claims, but did not comment and simply proceeded to vote.

“The commission has completed its work, I propose to leave the premises. All complaints will be considered in the manner prescribed by law,” the commission member asked.

“We have not yet received a written decision,” the Parnassians object.

The police are already on duty at the office, but so far no one has been taken out.
