Kiev denied shelling of Russians by Ukrainian border guards

Employees of the Ukrainian border service did not use firearms against the Russians who tried to take pictures near the checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Russian border, according to the website of the State Border Service of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian department launched an official investigation into the incident, they said that they had checked all the border guards on duty in the direction of the Krasnaya Talovka checkpoint. The check established that the weapons of the border guards "do not contain signs of use", and all their ammunition is intact.

A press release from the State Border Service notes that the information about the shooting of military personnel at the Russians "is completely untrue and is exclusively provocative." The department recalled that for border guards there is a ban on shooting towards the territory of a neighboring country.

Meanwhile, the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee in Rostov-on-Don opened a criminal case on the facts of the shelling of two Russians from the territory of Ukraine. According to the IC, there were "at least four" shots.

Recall, on the eve of the border control of the FSB in the Rostov region reported that a Ukrainian soldier opened fire on Russians who were trying to take pictures against the backdrop of the Krasnaya Talovka checkpoint. According to the FSB, a serviceman at the checkpoint called out to them with a shout of “Stop!” and wounded one of the Russians with a shot.

The Ukrainian border service linked the dissemination of false information about the shelling to the recent detention of a Russian major in the Donetsk region. KAMAZ with ammunition, in which there were two - a Russian soldier and a separatist - was searched by border guards at the Beryozovoe checkpoint. The State Border Service is confident that the false information about the shelling was supposed to divert "public attention from the participation of the RF Armed Forces in the conflict in the east" of Ukraine.
