Leonid Slutsky, coach of CSKA, has been appointed head coach of the Russian football team. Information about the final decision, agreed, including with the leadership of the country, was reported by Sport Express.

According to the publication "Soviet Sport", the appointment of Slutsky will be announced before the end of July.

The current coach of CSKA, Slutsky, allegedly has already received the consent of the owner of the club, Evgeny Giner, to work as a mentor of the Russian team in combination with a club position.

According to media outlets specializing in sports, a contract with Slutsky may be signed before the end of the qualifying round for the Euro 2016 championship. It is known that one of Slutsky's assistants in the national team will be Sergei Semak.

Vitaly Mutko a few hours earlier in an interview with the R-Sport agency denied the appointment of Slutsky to the post of head coach of the Russian national football team. Mutko called it rumors that journalists spread in the interests of their own ratings. Mutko called the information about the appointment of Slutsky "not corresponding to reality."

In a comment to the TASS agency on July 13, when rumors about the appointment first began to appear in the media, Leonid Slutsky himself did not confirm any negotiations on the subject of his employment in the national team. Calling the question an "abstract topic", Slutsky announced that he could at least coach the Mars team, but, like coaching in the Russian team, there is no point in discussing this, according to him.
