
The NASA Cosmic Observatory “Kepler” ( www.nasa.gov/kepler ) managed to find the planet the size of the ground in the “zone of life” by a star similar to the sun (spectral class G2). It is noted that the celestial body that received the Kepler-452B designation made it possible to bring a general account of confirmed exoplanets opened by Kepler, up to 1030 (and all in need of additional research of candidates 4696). Recall that the “zone of life” (in other words, the zone of habitability, the Zlatovlaski zone) is an area where water in liquid form can be on the surface of the planet in open reservoirs.
Unfortunately, the “confirmed double” is just the next approach to Earth 2.0. The Kepler-452B diameter is 60% more than our planet, the "double" is classified as a super-earth. The mass and the composition have not yet been defined, but previous studies show that the planets of the Kepler-452B size should be like the planets of the earth's group, that is, they are made of solid materials-stones, etc. Perhaps gravity there is twice the earth, which, however, does not deprive the planet of the chances of being inhabited.
The 385-day orbit Kepler-452b means that the object is 5% more remote from its star than the Earth from the Sun. The age of the find is 6 billion years, this is 1.5 billion more than our luminaries. At about the same surface temperature, the parent star shines 20% brighter, since it is 10% “fussing”.
The Kepler-452 system is located in 1400 light years from the Earth in the constellation Lebed. In order to confirm the opening and clarify the parameters of the system, a group of astronomers, led by John Jenkins, also conducted ground observations with a number of observatories, including the largest telescope “Kek” at the top of the extinct Hawaiian volcano Mau-on-Kaa. The corresponding article was accepted for publication in Astronomical Journal .
Another dozen of the new candidate planets has diameters from one to two earthly, and their orbits are also inside the “zone of life”. Nine of them stars are similar to our sun in size and temperature.
