A criminal case has been opened under Art. 319 of the Criminal Code (insulting a representative of the authorities). The case is sent to the Investigative Committee. The suspect is an activist Yevgeny Zuev, a participant in various protest events, including in support of Ukraine; In December 2014, he found himself among the detained participants in a lecture on the Maidan in a free school of resistance.

Now Zuev is located in Ukraine. The fact that the case was initiated, he learned from his mother - she received a notification.

Zuev told the OVD-Info that the reason for the criminal case, apparently, was a household incident on July 20 at the station in Kazan, where special security measures were taken in connection with the World Water Sports Championship. The activist several times forced to go through the framework of the metal detector, which caused him indignation. “There was heavy rain, and I asked why the people who stand behind me should get wet,” Zuev explains. - The bakery went, and I in a flash said: “Laispens, parasites, what to keep you here, do not produce anything”. ” After that, the activist was detained and taken to the linear police department at the station. They took the explanations from Zuev, photographed, removed fingerprints. According to him, he had already drawn up a protocol on criminal articles on insulting and applying violence to a representative of the authorities, although, according to him, “there was nothing but indignation” in his actions; Then they left only an insult - Art. 319 Criminal Code.

“In order for the whole thing to hush up the whole thing, I went to the police officers, apologized for my behavior, said that this would not happen again,” Zuev says. A conciliatory handshake took place, the police promised the activist that “everything will be fine, there would be no problems”, and even showed him that “they tear some pieces of paper”.

However, as it turns out now, such an insignificant event was still the reason for the establishment of a criminal case. Zuev does not exclude that this is due to his activist activity. In a conversation with the ATS-Info, he recalled how in December 2014 he was removed from a train in Bryansk when he was traveling from Kyiv. This happened a week after the lecture accelerates in a free school of resistance. The court sent Zuev under administrative arrest for petty hooliganism.

After that, in Moscow, the activist was fired from the Central Directorate of the infrastructure of the Moscow Railway of Russian Railways. At the same time, at first he was assured at work that the story in Bryansk would not have the consequences for him, but then they said: “either you quit by agreement of the parties, or under the article” (that is, with the entry into the workbook of such a basis for dismissal, which can negatively affect the subsequent employment). Zuev believes that the FSB officers pressed his superiors.

The activist is not going to return to Russia at present.
