The President of the Union of European Football Associations, Michel Platini, officially nominated his candidacy to participate in the elections of the head of the International Football Federation. This was reported on the website of UEFA.

“I made a deeply personal and deliberate decision, carefully weighing both the future of football and my own future. Of course, at the same time I was guided by your support, the respect and encouragement that many of you showed me, ”Platini said in his appeal. It is addressed to the presidents and general secretaries of 209 national associations - members of FIFA.
