EU sanctions against Russia were supported by six more countries

Six more European countries joined the extension of the anti -Russian sanctions of the European Union. "Candidates of Montenegro and Albania, the countries of the European Free Trade Association of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, as well as Ukraine join this decision. The extension of the sanctions was the expected step that was planned in advance. The sectoral sanctions of the European Union, adopted due to aggression of Russia in Ukraine, came into force on August 1, 2014 . They were introduced for a period of 1 year.

On June 24, in response to the extension of European sector sanctions, Vladimir Putin extended the embargo for food supply from the USA, Canada, European Union, Norway and Australia for a year .
