The area of ​​forest fires in Transbaikalia continues to increase, their smoke was enveloped in Chita - the administrative center of the region, Interfax reports.

In the Trans -Baikal Territory per day, the number of forest fires increased by four - to 26, and their total fire area increased by 700 hectares, to 4.4 thousand hectares, the regional service of the region reported. "The forest burns in the Aleksandrovo-Zavodsky, Borzinsky, Petrovsk-Zabaikal, Krasnochiko, Karymsky, Tungokochensky, Khiloko, Uletovsky and Chita districts," the report said.

Forest fires began in Transbaikalia on March 19. According to TASS, the squalling wind led to the fact that on April 13, forest and steppe fires spread to residential buildings and country cooperatives in several areas at once. The fire destroyed and damaged over 200 houses in 18 settlements. On April 29, the steppe fire completely destroyed the village of Shivia.

Since April 13, an emergency mode has been operating on the territory of the Trans -Baikal Territory, and a special fire regime is extended until August 1, 2015.

The governor of the Trans -Baikal Territory Konstantin Ilkovsky previously called on residents not to burn garbage and dry grass in country and utility plots. According to the regional Ministry of Emergencies, this is the most common cause of fires in country cooperatives.

In addition to Transbaikalia, the emergency regime due to fires was announced in seven constituent entities of the Russian Federation: throughout the territory of the Irkutsk, Amur regions, the republics of Khakassia, Buryatia, Tuva, as well as in three microdistricts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, in three microdistricts of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). A special fire regime (OPR) was introduced in 44 constituent entities of Russia.
