In the Murmansk region, the security of a strategically important bridge was entrusted to the mannequin

The prosecutors of the Murmansk region during one of the checks revealed an unusual violation - an important transport hub and a strategic object - a bridge over the Kola Bay - instead of an employee, "guarded" a mannequin. The issue of initiating a criminal case is being resolved, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the press service of the prosecutor's office.

As explained in the prosecutor’s office, the Murmanskavtodor, responsible for the bridge, usually concludes a contract with a private security company. Under the contract, four employees should monitor the object 24 hours a day. However, checking the work of the enterprise responsible for the safety of the transport hub revealed multiple violations.

“An unusual violation that we had never revealed before: unfortunately, there was no employee on the bridge in one of the security points and there was a mannequin -mulyage instead. We believe that this is extremely unacceptable. This is a serious object that should be protected properly,” the prosecutor’s office as saying the prosecutor of the October District of Murmansk Alexei Kruglin.

The leadership of the Murmanskavtodor, which receives money from the budget, including the protection of the bridge, promised to sort out the situation and fined unscrupulous guards.

In the security company, an unusual decision was explained by a change in the deployment of posts for the summer period - a living employee was shifted to another zone, and so that the booth was not empty, they put a mannequin in a jacket and a hat.

According to the prosecutor, the probability of initiating a criminal case is not excluded - other controlling departments have already joined the proceedings.

The four -lane bridge over the Kola Bay is the world's longest automobile bridge behind the Arctic Circle. Its total length is about 2.5 km, in the surface part - 1.6 km, Interfax reports. The construction of the bridge was followed from 1992 to 2004. It is of great strategic importance for Russia and the countries of Northern Europe, providing Murmansk’s automobile communications with the western regions of the region, as well as with the nearest foreign neighbors - Finland and Norway.
