Medvedev estimated the damage from the drought of 7 billion rubles

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev during a selector meeting in Sochi announced damage from a drought, which is previously estimated at 7 billion rubles, TASS reports .

He clarified that this primarily concerns the Volgograd, Saratov, Samara, Orenburg and Irkutsk regions, Transbaikalia, Tuva, Buryatia and Kalmykia.

The Prime Minister also confirmed previously announced forecasts of this year’s crop of 100 million tons.

Medvedev promised to maintain in the 2016 budget the costs of supporting the agro -industrial complex at the level of this year, as well as reduce the level of co -financing by regions of agricultural loans to the minimum 5%.

The head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Alexander Tkachev, announced the plans of the state to purchase 2 million tons of grain in the intervention fund. He also spoke about plans to bring to 130 million tons of grain crop in 2020.

Last year, in Russia, according to Rosstat, 103.8 million tons of grain were collected.
