On Thursday, August 6, in Nizhny Novgorod, the visiting collegium of the Moscow District Military Court as part of the novel Muranov (Chairman), Sergey Krivosheev and Yuri Chepelev will announce the verdict in the case of anarchist Ilya Romanov, accused under the terrorist articles of the Criminal Code. The meeting will be held at the premises of the Criminal College of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Court (B. Pokrovskaya St., 17). The beginning of the hearings at 9:30.
Romanov’s accusation is supported by prosecutors Alexei Ezersky and Alexei Vinokurov. The lawyer Evgeny Gubin defends Politsek.
On July 22, the prosecutor Ezersky demanded for Romanov 10 years of strict regime with a fine of 120 thousand rubles. He asked such a punishment by a partial addition of the deadlines requested for each of the four accusations imputed by the Politzek. Part 1 of Article 30 - Part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code (preparation for the terrorist attack), the prosecutor requested 7 years of the colony for anarchist, under Part 1 of Article 222 (illegal turnover of explosives) - 3 years with a fine of 50 thousand rubles, in part 1 of Article 223 (illegal production of ammunition) - 3 years with a fine of 100 thousand rubles, in part 3 of article 30 - part 1 of Article 205.2 (attempt on a public excuse terrorism) - 3 years in colony.
The first three accusations were charged with Romanov on the fact of the explosion in the square in the center of Nizhny Novgorod, the fourth - on the fact of the publication of a private conversation between the activist, widespread as his interview with the Libertaire radio , the organ of the Ukrainian revolutionary confederation of the anarcho -syndicalists.
On August 4, Romanov and Lawyer Gubin spoke in the debate. The Politzek said he pleaded guilty to the 222nd and 223rd articles of the Criminal Code, but completely rejected the accusations of preparing a terrorist attack and calls for terrorism. In his speech, which occupied about 100 pages of handwritten text, the defendant dismantled the prosecution arguments in detail and denied them. Gubin, who was following, also proved the failure of the investigation arguments and the prosecutor's office.
Then Romanov made a brief last word. “I thought there were no criminal cases at all - such an absurdity; the theater of absurdity could be called,” said, in particular, the political prisoner. “But, it turns out, it happens. That is, now - as the 30s of the XX century, when some kind of attempt on Comrade Stalin was invented, and this is from the same series.”
On the night of October 26, 2013, Romanov suffered, experiencing a homemade firecracker in the square in the center of Nizhny Novgorod. The capacity of the firecracker, as the examination established, was approximately 3 grams in the TNT equivalent. The anarchist lost his left hand; He is assigned the III group of disability.
Romanov was arrested. The case of the activist was conducted by the investigator of the regional FSB Ilya Kurkin. According to the case file, Romanov wanted to intimidate the city administration so that it stops cutting down city squares.
In an effort to prove the presence of Romanov’s goal to influence power (the presence of such a goal is one of the qualifying signs of a terrorist attack), the FSB accused the activist of storing a text called “Arki terror”, and also wrote the appeal of the following content: “Sorokin Kondrashov, if you adhere to the parks of the blow of all to the fucked mother!” (Spelling and punctuation were preserved. Valery Shantsev is the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Oleg Sorokin is the mayor of Nizhny Novgorod, and Oleg Kondrashov at the time of the explosion was the city manager of the city. - Ed.). At the same time, as can be seen from Romanov’s letters , Politzek writes without spelling and punctuation errors. In addition, in the laptop of Romanov himself and computers of his relatives, who were seized from the apartment where the activist lived, no such texts were found.
According to the accusation, the text of the Aryan terror and the appeal to officials FSB expert Denis Turenko found in a computer seized in an apartment where Romanov periodically visited, but did not live. This computer belonged to a certain Sergey Vetoshko, who, as it turned out during the trial, on November 6, 2013, that is, about a week and a half after the incident with Romanov, died from strangulation in the Nizhny Novgorod OP "Kanavinsky" (according to the official version - hanged).
The original study of this computer from the case file disappeared, and after a long time Turenko duplicated the conclusion, explaining that "it is the same."
The publication of the interview was imputed by Romanov only in February 2015. According to the comrades of the anarchist, the FSB decided to be safe in the case of this episode in case the prosecutor’s office did not manage to prove the guilt of the defendant in preparation for the terrorist attack.
Preliminary hearings in the Romanov case were held on June 2 in Moscow . The activist participated in them from the video from the Nizhny Novgorod pre-trial detention center-1. Hearing essentially go in Nizhny Novgorod since June 16. According to activists, interrogations of witnesses and experts have repeatedly made it possible to make sure that the whole thing is against an anarchist is a provocation of the FSB.
Romanov is 48 years old. He came to the left movement in the late 1980s. In 1998, the activist was arrested in the case of the underground group "New Revolutionary Alternative". For three years he spent in the building for the mentally ill Moscow pre-trial detention center "Butyrka". As a result, however, the investigation did not find any evidence of Romanov’s involvement in the case, and the activist was released.
Nevertheless, Romanov’s persecution continued - the special services periodically detained him. Then the activist went to Ukraine.
In December 2002, Romanov was arrested by the Ukrainian authorities on charges of explosion at the SBU building, perfect in October of the same year. The activist did not recognize the involvement in the incident. Nevertheless, he was convicted of this episode in the framework of the case of the "Odessa Komsomol members" to 10 years of strict regime. He served the deadline first in the Rivne region, then in Lugansk. After liberation in December 2012, he returned to Nizhny Novgorod.
