The euro exchange rate on the Moscow Exchange grew almost to the ruble and for the first time from March 3 rose above 70 rubles, RBC reports . The dollar was exceeded for 64 rubles, and the British pound now costs more than 100 rubles.
In the afternoon, the euro reached the maximum of 70.01 rubles, which is 81 kopecks above the closing level of yesterday's trading. The dollar exchange rate increased to 64.27 rubles, which is 80.9 kopecks above the closing level of yesterday's trading. The previous time higher than the 64 rubles mark, the dollar rate rose on February 24, 2015.
At the same time, the course of the British pound sterling today for the first time since the beginning of February 2015 rose above 100 rubles. At the maximum, he reached the mark of 100.35 rubles.
Analysts associate a decrease in a ruble with a low level of oil prices. During today's trading on the ICE exchange, the cost of Brent oil futures with the supply in September 2015 ranges between 49 and 50 dollars per barrel, remaining approximately at the level of the closing of yesterday's trading.
"The cost of oil is still in dangerous proximity to the psychological level of $ 50, so the American currency retains all the chances of strengthening up to 65 rubles. In turn, in the interbank market, participants demonstrate a complete lack of interest in ruble liquidity, the cost of which continues to remain at a minimum since the beginning of December 2014," said the senior analyst of Veles Capital Yuri Kravchenko.
