In the case of “shaking the situation towards instability”, according to which RBC journalist Alexander Sokolov and former activists of the “Army of the People’s Will” Yuri Mukhin and Valery Parfenov were sent to pre-trial detention, on the initiative of the investigation, the accused will have to change their lawyer. The cases against them for “continuing the activities of an extremist organization” have been combined into one. Sokolov and Parfenov refuse to testify, while Mukhin does not admit guilt, but gave evidence. The investigation saw this as a conflict of interests of the accused and removed lawyer Alexei Chernyshev, who had previously represented all three, from the case (the resolution is available). Sokolov and Parfenov will have to look for new defenders, Chernyshev may continue to represent Mukhin.
