The Oktyabrsky Court of Arkhangelsk extended for a month, until September 8, the term of arrest of Ilya Azovsky, editor-in-chief of an opposition newspaper. According to the online publication 29.ru, in court, Azovsky complained about his health and a difficult psychological state; doctors say that he was on the verge of a stroke twice.
Azovsky was detained on June 8 on suspicion of purchasing and storing amphetamine. The editorial office of the newspaper associates the initiation of a criminal case with the political nature of the independent position of the publication.
