According to the results of the morning trading on the Moscow Exchange, the official euro for the first time in more than five months exceeded 70 rubles - from August 11 it was set at 70.754 rubles, which is 94.51 kopecks above the previous indicator, RBC reports. The last time above 70 rubles, the official exchange rate of the euro rose on February 26.
The official dollar exchange rate grew by 65.78 kopecks and for the first time from February 14 rose above 64 rubles. Since August 11, the dollar exchange rate was determined at 64,4977 rubles.
Analysts associate a decrease in a ruble with a low level of oil prices. During today's trading on the ICE exchange, the cost of Brent oil futures with delivery in October 2015 ranges in the region of $ 49 per barrel.
The financial analyst Nordea Bank Dmitry Savchenko believes that the market highly assesses the likelihood that oil will be fixed below $ 50 for a Brent barrel, which, according to the expert, means that there will be few buyers at the ruble.
Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina praised the efforts of the regulator to maintain the ruble exchange rate. “The Central Bank does a lot to strengthen the national currency, in any case, so that it feels stable, so that our financial system as a whole is also stably feels. I see how persistently you follow this path,” RBC reports the words of the head of state.
