“Afisha” will be headed by the director of the Strelka Institute

Varvara Melnikova, head of the Strelka Institute, has been appointed Managing Director of Afisha. She will replace Natalia Galkina, who has headed the company since 2013, in this position.

The reasons for leaving Galkina are not called. The Rambler & Co report notes that Galkina is leaving to work on other projects.

Varvara Melnikova's responsibilities will include asset management, brand development and team performance improvement. As Melnikova emphasizes, the Strelka Institute and Afisha, which is part of the Rambler & Co group of companies, are two independent and self-sufficient projects. “We are not talking about the joint activities of the institute and a group of publications and services united under the Afisha brand.
