Novgorod vice-governor Nechaev was detained upon receipt of a bribe

Vice-governor of the Novgorod region Viktor Nechaev was detained when receiving a bribe. This was announced by the head of the press service of the TFR Vladimir Markin. The official is charged with part 3 of Article 30 - Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (attempted fraud on an especially large scale); In accordance with Part 3 of Article 66 of the Code (sentencing for an unfinished crime), Nechaev threatens up to seven and a half years of colony. The TFR will apply for the arrest of the official.

According to the Investigative Department, Nechaev proposed to the head of the Shimsky district of the region Mikhail Nekipelov, against whom the case is opened under article 201 of the Criminal Code (abuse of powers), to ensure the cessation of the persecution for a bribe of 5.5 million rubles. Markin emphasizes that the vice-governor "had absolutely no way to influence the course of the investigation of the criminal case against Nekipelov, but only misled him, intending to simply assign money." This is what explains the official of the TFR, that the qualifications of Nechaev’s actions are explained under the 159th article.

Nekipelov responded to the vice-governor with consent, and he himself brought him to the FSB. On Monday, Nechaev was detained in Moscow by special services operatives with red -handed in receipt of part of the appointed amount - 47 thousand dollars (about 3 million rubles). According to Markin, the official tried to hide from the security forces in his car and damaged their office car.

In addition to Nechaev, there are a number of defendants in the case. They are charged with the same articles as the vice-governor. By the name of these defendants, Markin calls only a member of the Public Chamber of the Novgorod Region Ulyan Zhuravskaya. It is reported that Zhuravskaya was detained in Novgorod and the investigation will also seek her arrest.

“I want to warn and once again remind you: whoever promises you to solve the issue in the Investigative Committee illegally, do not build illusions and treat this at best as an unsuccessful joke and, as soon as possible, contact the Investigative Committee, as Nekupelov did,” Markin concluded.
