August 29 and 30 in Krasnoyarsk will be held the festival of science "Zero September". As we recall, Baron Munchausen wanted to give the city extra day of spring, but his offer did not delight anyone. In November 2013, an interactive Museum of Science "Newton Park" opened in Krasnoyarsk. In 2014, the team of the young museum decided to give the city another day of knowledge - zero September.

In general, about Newton Park should be told a separate story. Its appearance is a plot for a classic American success story. The young physicist Anton Sharypov after several internships abroad returned to Krasnoyarsk. There is a lot of strength and enthusiasm. Three children grow up in the family. In different countries of the world, he saw how love for science is instilled in children. Why not do the same in Krasnoyarsk?

Together with his father in the garage, he began to make exhibits for the future Museum of Science ... A little time has passed, and Anton meets another enthusiast of scientific education - young physicist Ivan Timofenko, who had already held exit scientific shows in the city. Then a well -known advertising agency in the city joined the case. As a result of a mixture of scientific enthusiasm and commercial experience, the Newton Park Museum of Science was born.

The museum was registered in the city center, in the building of the former Lenin Museum, which is proud of the Krasnoyarsk Museum Center and is one of the main exhibition sites in Krasnoyarsk. The CMC was previously famous for interesting projects. Krasnoyarsk Museum Biennale and Museum Night are known in the museum circles of the country. At first, the Museum of Science was occupied by only one modest hall. The first exhibits made by hand began to be added more and more. It took the second and third halls, a store of scientific souvenirs appeared. From the very beginning, the museum was focused on active participation in social life. Traveling around orphanages, interactive exhibitions for rural schools. Several regional social grants were won to various programs, support from the charity fund V. Potanin appeared. So the decision to hold a festival of science for children and adults of the city was quite logical. The key here is the word “children”: they are the target audience of all the programs and events of the museum. Academic institutes and universities of the city were involved in the festival of science. Everyone was given a place to tell children in a playful way about what the scientists of Krasnoyarsk are doing. In addition to stationary sites, guests were entertained by scientific shows, a scientific cafe worked in one of the halls, a mobile planetarium was deployed in the lobby, a scientific battle was held in the hall in the evening, and sidewalk astronomy worked on the Yenisei embankment. In one day (August 29, 2014), the festival gathered more than two thousand people. It was a success.

On the Day of Science in February this year, together with the Council of Young Scientists of the Krasnoyarsk Scientific Center SB RAS, the experience of conducting the science festival was repeated. Festival "Science. Traveling in Russia - 2015 ”gathered 3.5 thousand people.

With such a luggage, Krasnoyarsk approaches the next festival of science “Zero September”. This time the festival will be held with the support of the Dynasty Foundation. The application "Newton Park" won the competition of festivals of science of the Dynasty Foundation this year. The program has already traditional sites from scientific institutes and universities and scientific shows, scientific battles and scientific cafes, watching popular science films and, of course, invited lecturers, whose arrival was possible thanks to the money of “dynasty”. In fact, the scientific holiday program is open to everyone-you can still become a participant in the scientific battle, leading a master class or a popular lecturer. On the four floors of the monumental building of the Krasnoyarsk Museum Center, built to perpetuate the memory of Lenin, there is a place for everyone who wants to find out what modern science is. And there will be a lot of such people.
