Astronomy in Kazan

From June 5 to June 7, 2015, as part of the SpaceKazan-iaps-2015 International Forum ( http://kpfu.ru/astrogeokazan-iaps-2015.html ) at the Kazan Federal University (KFU) and the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan (Academy of Sciences of the RT), the Cosmic Science Youth School took place. The theme of the youth school is devoted to the modern research of planets and asteroids, coordinate measuring systems in astronomy and geodesy, as well as the educational activities of the leading planetaries of Russia.

The school was made possible thanks to the support of the Fund of Non -Profit Programs of Dmitry Zimin “Dynasty” (SS.15.046 project - www.dynastyfdn.com/news/1268 ). The funds allocated by the Grant fund went to compensate for the residence of the participants of the Youth School in the KFU hostel in the village of Universiade (in which athletes now live - participants in the World Sports Championship). Preparations for the opening of the youth school were in full swing when information appeared about making the Dynasty Foundation among the “foreign agents” and the possible suspension of its activities. This caused some fears of the organizing committee that difficulties may appear with the implementation of the financial obligations of the fund (since the vast majority of the school participants have already confirmed their visit and places in the KFU hostel have already been booked for them). But the fears were in vain - the Dmitry Borisovich fund completely transferred the funds of the allocated grant to Kazan University. Also, Kazan Federal University and the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan provided serious support in the organization of the youth school.

About 50 people took part in the school, including high school students of various schools in Kazan, graduate students and young scientists from Kazan, the Institute of Astronomy of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow), the Pulkovo observatory (St. Petersburg), Cheboksar, representatives of Aktobinsky (Kazakhstan), Astrakhan Yoshkar-Olinsky; Ufa, Yaroslavl planetarians. The work of the school was opened by her supervisor, head of the department of astrophysics and space geodesy of the Institute of Physics of KFU Academician Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan Nail Abdulovich Sahibullin. The adviser to the Presidium of Academician Shamil Midkhatovich Chabdarov also addressed a welcoming speech on behalf of the leadership of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan to those present, he spoke about the role played by the Academy of Science of the Republic of Tatarstan in the development of science and education in the republic. In conclusion, he presented to six students of different universities of Kazan, nominal awards of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan.

At meetings in the Small Hall of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, the participants listened to lectures by leading scientists invited to the SpaceKazan -iaps-2015 forum, and teachers of the Department of Astronomy and the CFU Space Geodesy, dedicated to the latest achievements in the study of the Earth, planets and the help of the Club of Churumov-Gerasimenko-Gerasimenko The Rosett interplanetary station, the atmosphere and the surfaces of Mars and Venus with the Mars Express and Venus Express orbital devices, respectively. The problems of the movement of spacecraft, the influence of relativistic and cosmological effects on the movement of objects of the solar system, the evolution of planetary systems and the tasks of ultraviolet astronomy were also discussed.

A separate meeting was held on Sunday, June 7, in the planetarium of Kazan Federal University. Representatives of the leading planetaries of Russia, specialists in creating full -time programs were invited to this meeting in order to discuss the most important issues of organizing the work of modern planetarians and demonstrate the possibilities of the latest equipment of the Planetarium of Kazan University, which was opened in June 2013. The work of the youth school was high and ended with a general photograph at the steps of the Planetarium KFU and the traditional excursion to the Museum of the Astronomical Observatory named after Engelhardt. The successful holding of the Cosmic Science of the Youth School, supported by the Dynasty Foundation, once again convinces us of the need to work such charitable organizations that enable various scientific institutions, in particular, in the regions to implement scientific, educational and educational projects.
