The killer of the Armenian family of Permyakov was recognized as a sane

A forensic psychiatric examination recognized the Private Russian Military base in Armenia Valery Permyakov, accused of killing seven people from the Avetisyan family in Gyumri. This is reported by Interfax.

“The conclusions of experts conducting the forensic psychiatric examination of Permyakov say that he did not find any chronic mental disorder. He was also not in a state of affect,” was announced at a meeting of the garrison military court in Gyumri.

The court considers the case against Permyakov about desertion, embezzlement and illegal weapons. On these points, the private pleaded guilty.

During the meeting, Permyakov’s testimony was announced at the preliminary investigation, according to which he was looking for money and jewelry in the Avetisyan house. The accused claimed that he only wanted to scare the locals and was not going to kill them. The lawyer of Permyakov called on the court not to disclose the details of the murder, as this charge will be considered in the Armenian court.

On the night of January 12, the 18-year-old Permyakov, having left the location of the 102nd Russian military base, came to the house of the Avetisyan family not familiar to him and shot five adults aged 24 to 55 years from Kalashnikov, and two children-two-year-old Asmik and six-monthly Seryozha tried to cut a bayonet-knife. All victims died on the spot, except for a half -year -old baby. He was taken to the hospital and operated on. On January 19, Seryozha died in the hospital.

On the night of January 13, Russian border guards detained Permyakov while trying to cross the Armenian-Turkish border. The Armenian side, including under the pressure of mass protests of local residents , demanded the issuance of Permyakov and the trial of it according to its own laws. Russia refused to give the suspect, referring to its constitution. Nevertheless, she assured that the investigation and the trial of the soldier would be held at Gyumri .

On June 26, after the start of protests in Armenia against raising electricity tariffs, the country's president Serzh Sargsyan met in Brussels with the Minister of Transport of Russia, co-chairman of the Armenian-Russian intergovernmental commission Maxim Sokolov. During the meeting, in particular, an agreement was reached on the transfer of the case on the murder in Gyumri to the Armenian side .

"The decision to transfer the criminal case in terms of the murder to the production of the Investigative Committee of Armenia and further proceedings by the corresponding instance of Armenia, according to the president, undoubtedly reflects the spirit of partnership and fraternity and is fully consistent with the provisions of the Armenian-Russian agreement on the status of the Russian military base housed in Armenia.

On July 18, representatives of the Investigative Committee of Armenia received materials in the criminal case on the murder of the Avetisyan family. Earlier, the investigation was conducted by the TFR. "Members of the Investigative Group of the Main Directorate for the Investigation of Particularly important cases of Armenia, together with Russian colleagues, studied the criminal case under the jurisdiction of the Investigative Committee of Russia and jointly identified materials regarding the investigation of the murder of Avetisyan family," the press service of the department noted.
